Kathrin was born in Switzerland. She studied German and English Literature in Berlin. Over the last 20 years she has worked with many institutions in the field of culture, always passionate about building bridges between the arts and the world of brands. She has a longstanding relationship with Berlinale and took over the Sponsorship department in 2016.
With more than 330.000 tickets sold for the 11 festival days, the Berlinale is the largest audience film festival in the world. The Berlinale started quite early to focus on public private partnerships to finance its expansion during the last two decades.
Today long-term corporate sponsors play a key role also in enabling new services, incentives and formats for the festival. At the same time the challenge is to balance increasing demands by partners, the public and the festival itself.
The secret to success is constant transition.
